Word Rain
Words fall from the sky. Type one to pop it before it reaches the ground — it gets faster, the words get longer, and golden words, ice and bombs fall too. Three lives.
Word Rain is typing practice disguised as an arcade game. Words fall from the top of the screen, and typing one pops it before it reaches the ground. It speeds up as you go, and the words get longer.
How to play Word Rain
- Start typing any falling word. The first letter locks on to it; finish the word to pop it.
- A word that reaches the ground costs a life. You start with three.
- Golden words are worth three times as much. Ice freezes the rain for three seconds. A bomb pops every word on screen. A heart gives a life back.
- The game ends when the last life goes.
Scoring
- A word is worth 10 points a letter, so long words are worth more.
- Popping words in a row builds a combo that multiplies every word’s points.
- Golden words are worth triple.
Tips
- Go for the lowest word first — it is the one about to cost you a life.
- Save a bomb for a crowded screen.
Play it with friends
- On your own, against the characters — each plays the game by its own rules the moment it starts, so there is always somebody to beat.
- With friends, each on their own phone or laptop: one of you shows a code, the others type it in, and everybody gets exactly the same game on the same Go.
- Taking turns on one device — pass it round, and each turn is scored against the turns before.
