Sudden Death
The same passage for everyone, and no second chances. A wrong key stops you where you stand. Whoever gets furthest wins.
Sudden Death is a typing race where accuracy is everything. The first wrong key ends your run, so slowing down to stay right is the whole strategy.
How to play Sudden Death
- Everybody gets the same passage on the same countdown.
- Type it. The first wrong key stops you where you stand.
- Whoever gets furthest wins.
Scoring
- Players are placed by how far through the passage they got before their first mistake.
Tips
- Type at the speed you can hold without a mistake, not the speed you can reach.
- Watch for capitals and punctuation — they are where most runs end.
- Read a word ahead of the one you are typing, so nothing in the passage takes you by surprise.
- If a key keeps ending your runs, drill it in Practice first: every miss here is counted against the key that was asked for.
Play it with friends
- On your own, against the characters — each plays the game by its own rules the moment it starts, so there is always somebody to beat.
- With friends, each on their own phone or laptop: one of you shows a code, the others type it in, and everybody gets exactly the same game on the same Go.
- Taking turns on one device — pass it round, and each turn is scored against the turns before.
