Direction Chaos
An arrow and four buttons. Press the way it points — or the opposite way on Reverse, or by its colour on the Colour rule: green follow, red reverse. In mixed play the rule switches every few arrows, always announced before it does.
Direction Chaos trains task switching: holding one rule, then dropping it for another without carrying the old one over. An arrow appears with four buttons, and what counts as the right button depends on the rule in play.
How to play Direction Chaos
- An arrow appears in the middle. On Follow, press the button the way it points — tap it, or use the arrow keys (or W, A, S and D).
- On Reverse, press the opposite way.
- On Colour, the arrow’s colour decides: green means follow, red means reverse.
- In mixed play the rule switches every few arrows, and the switch is always announced before it happens.
Scoring
- A right answer is 10 points, and up to 5 more for a quick one.
- Five good decisions in a row start multiplying your points, up to three times.
- A wrong direction, or running out of time on an arrow, costs 5.
No clock
- Choose No clock to play twenty rounds at your own pace: each round waits twice as long, there is no bonus for speed, and a wrong answer or a miss costs nothing — it only breaks your combo. A no-clock game keeps its own best, apart from the timed one’s.
Tips
- Watch the rule banner, not just the arrow — the first arrow after a switch is where most points are lost.
- On Colour, decide follow or reverse before you look at the direction.
Play it with friends
- On your own, against the characters — each plays the game by its own rules the moment it starts, so there is always somebody to beat.
- With friends, each on their own phone or laptop: one of you shows a code, the others type it in, and everybody gets exactly the same game on the same Go.
- Taking turns on one device — pass it round, and each turn is scored against the turns before.
