Tug of War
Two sides on one rope. The side that is further through the passage pulls; drag the other side over the line, or finish first, to win. One-on-one or two teams.
Tug of War turns a typing race into a contest between two sides. Both sides type the same passage, and the rope moves towards whichever side is further through it.
How to play Tug of War
- Pick a side — one-on-one, or two teams.
- On Go, everybody types the same passage. Every right letter is a pull on the rope.
- Drag the other side over the line, or finish the passage first, to win.
Scoring
- The rope shows the difference between the two sides’ progress.
- A side wins by pulling the rope over the line or by finishing first.
Tips
- In a team, the rope follows the team’s progress — steady typing helps more than one fast burst.
- A wrong key does not move you on, so a run of mistakes lets the other side pull back. Accuracy is pulling power.
- Choose a short passage for a quick game, or a long one for a proper contest of stamina.
Play it with friends
- On your own, against the characters — each plays the game by its own rules the moment it starts, so there is always somebody to beat.
- With friends, each on their own phone or laptop: one of you shows a code, the others type it in, and everybody gets exactly the same game on the same Go.
- Taking turns on one device — pass it round, and each turn is scored against the turns before.
