FinClamp has two skills to build, each a whole course with practice around it: touch typing, and speaking English. Both are free, run in the browser, and keep your progress on your device until you sign in.

Touch typing teaches every key with the finger that presses it, a key or two a lesson, from the home row to capitals, the number row, the number pad and symbols, with a certificate for every lesson. Around the course are practice made of your own mistakes, a one-minute speed test, a daily challenge, stories to type a chapter at a time and a finger guide.

Speak English is seventy lessons from first words (A1) to mastery (C2), with whole stages on pronunciation, articulation and negotiation. Around it are a practice studio to record yourself on voice or video with no lesson at all, a guided five-minute warm-up with a pace check, a review of the exercises you missed and a two-minute placement check.

Every minute spent learning here counts as time upskilled, and the home screen keeps the total: screen time turned into skill time.

Touch typing

• The course: the home row to symbols, a key or two a lesson, a certificate for each

• Speed test: one minute, your words a minute and your accuracy
• Daily challenge: one passage a day, the same for everybody, for double XP

Speak English

• The course: seventy lessons in nine stages, A1 to C2, each with Learn, Practise and Speak
• Articulation: twelve lessons on voice, diction and clear thinking
• Studio: record yourself on voice or video, with a topic or without, kept on your device
• Five-minute warm-up: breath, jaw, lips, tongue, a tongue twister and a reading timed for pace
• Review: every exercise you missed, until you have got it right twice
• Placement check: two minutes to find where to start
