Personal development, made playful: build a skill, train your brain, play with friends and find your calm, a few minutes at a time. Touch typing, spoken English from A1 to C2, daily puzzles, brain games, games to play with friends, meditation and calm lessons, free, with nothing to sign up for. Turn screen time into skill time: every hour here is an hour of upskilling.

The time is counted for you. Every minute you spend learning, practising or playing here adds to your hours upskilled, shown on the home screen and in your day, so you can see screen time turning into skill time. Minutes spent idle, on the home screen or with the relaxing toys are not counted.

Start with the typing course. Every key is drawn in the colour of the finger that presses it, each lesson brings in a key or two at a time, and every lesson you pass earns a certificate with your speed and accuracy on it. Practice is made from your own mistakes: the keys you miss and the words you stumble on come back until each one is typed cleanly twice.

Then train your brain every day. A new word guess, sudoku, mini crossword, nonogram and Make 24 arrive each morning: the same puzzles for everybody, so a group of friends can each play on their own phone and compare. Six brain games adapt to you as you play (Target Hunter, Don’t Tap!, Direction Chaos, Number Ninja, Pattern Breaker and Glimpse) and a daily workout runs five of them. Speed maths, number chains and the times tables are a minute each; Pairs and Flash Pairs turn two cards at a time and ask what you remember; reaction time asks how quick your hands are.

And when you want a challenge, every game is the same game on the same Go for everybody in it: one of you shows a code, the rest type it in on their own phones. Typing races, Word Rain and Rhythm Keys, the number games, and four sports on one button: Bullseye (archery), Six Hitter (cricket), Marbles and Top Corner (penalties). Pairs is a duel on one phone as well. Find a pair and you go again. The characters play too, whenever nobody else is about.

Nothing needs an account. Progress, best runs and certificates are kept on your own device, and signing in with Google takes them to every FinClamp app and every phone or computer you use.
