Lanterns

Let glowing paper lanterns go, one tap at a time, and watch them drift up into the night.

Lanterns is a still lake at night. Tap anywhere and a paper lantern is let go: it glows, sways a little and drifts upwards, getting smaller as it rises, until it fades into the dark, and its light catches on the water below. Hold and drag to let a stream of them go, or let a whole festival go at once.

How to play Lanterns

• Tap or click anywhere to let a lantern go.
• Hold and drag across the sky to let a stream of lanterns go.
• Let many go releases a row of lanterns along the water.
• With a keyboard: the arrow keys move the marker, Space lets a lantern go, M lets many go and C clears the sky.

Tips

• Let them go from low on the screen and they have the whole sky to drift through.
• Turn sound on in Settings: each lantern rings a soft bell from the same calm scale.
