Hoops
Ten free throws at a hoop that moves each shot. Hold and the power meter fills, let go and the ball goes up at the same angle every time, so power is the whole shot. A swish is 3, in off the rim 2, and three in a row puts you on fire: a point more for every basket after.
Hoops is a basketball shootout on one button. The ball always leaves your hands at the same angle, so the power is the whole shot: hold and the meter fills, let go and the ball goes up. The hoop moves for every shot, further, higher or lower.
How to play Hoops
- Hold Space, the up arrow or the big button, or hold on the court, and the power meter fills, then drains, then fills again.
- Let go and the ball goes up with that much power.
- Ten shots, each at a hoop the challenge has placed, the same for everybody in it.
Scoring
- Straight through the middle of the ring is a swish, worth 3. Anywhere else inside the ring rattles in for 2.
- Catch the ring and it bounces out; short or long is an air ball. Both score nothing.
- Make three in a row and you are on fire: every basket after it is worth a point more, until a miss.
Tips
- A further hoop needs more power and a higher one more again: watch where it moves before you hold.
- The meter fills and drains in a steady rhythm. Count it once on the first shot and let go on the same beat after.
Play it with friends
- On your own, against the characters. Each plays the game by its own rules the moment it starts, so there is always somebody to beat.
- With friends, each on their own phone or laptop: one of you shows a code, the others type it in, and everybody gets exactly the same game on the same Go.
- Taking turns on one device: pass it round, and each turn is scored against the turns before.
