The double sigh
Two breaths in through the nose, one long sigh out: a quick way to slow down.
A breath we all do without thinking, in a big sigh or after crying: a full breath in, a second little sip on top, and a long breath out. Done on purpose, a few times, it is one of the quickest ways to slow down.
The steps
- Ready (Easy seated pose): Sit or stand where you are. Let your shoulders drop.
- Double sigh: Breathe in through your nose; at the top, take a second short sip of air. Then breathe out slowly through your mouth, all the way.
- Rest: Breathe normally and notice the difference.
Tips
- Two or three is often enough. It works with your eyes open, in a queue, before a call.
