Word Guess
Guess the five-letter word. Green is the right letter in the right place, gold is in the word somewhere else, grey is not in it. A new word every day — the same one for everybody.
Word Guess is a daily five-letter word puzzle. There is a new word every day, the same for everybody, so a group of friends can each play it and compare how many guesses they needed.
How to play Word Guess
- Type any five-letter word and press Enter.
- Each letter is coloured: green is the right letter in the right place, gold is in the word but somewhere else, grey is not in the word.
- Use what you learn to make the next guess. You have six.
- When you are done, share your result — the colours, never the letters.
Scoring
- Solving in fewer guesses scores more: 600 points in one guess, 100 less for each guess after.
- Your streak of days played is kept on your device.
Tips
- Start with a word that has common letters — vowels and letters such as R, S, T, L and N.
- Do not reuse a grey letter, and move a gold one to a new place.
Play it with friends
- On your own, against the characters — each plays the game by its own rules the moment it starts, so there is always somebody to beat.
- With friends, each on their own phone or laptop: one of you shows a code, the others type it in, and everybody gets exactly the same game on the same Go.
- Taking turns on one device — pass it round, and each turn is scored against the turns before.
