Financial Disclaimer
Last updated: 23 August 2026
FinClamp provides information and arithmetic. It does not provide financial advice. Nothing on this site is a recommendation to buy, sell, or hold any financial product, and nothing on it takes your personal circumstances into account, because it does not know them.
1. Not a regulated adviser
FinClamp is not a registered investment adviser, a research analyst, a mutual fund distributor, an insurance broker, a lending intermediary, or a tax practitioner. It is not registered with SEBI, IRDAI, the RBI, or any equivalent authority in any jurisdiction, and it does not hold itself out as being so registered.
Where a guide expresses a view — that index funds usually beat active funds after costs, that the minimum payment on a credit card is a trap — that is editorial opinion about a general category, not personal advice about your money.
2. What the calculators actually do
Each calculator applies a published formula to the numbers you type in. It is arithmetic, performed faithfully. What it is not is a prediction.
In particular, every calculator that involves an expected rate of return asks you to supply that rate. The site has no idea what returns you will get, and neither does anyone else. Entering 12% does not make 12% happen; it answers the question "what would happen if it did".
3. Assumptions the tools make
Simplifying assumptions are what make a calculator usable, and they are also where its answers depart from reality. The significant ones:
- Returns are treated as constant
- Real returns arrive unevenly. A 12% average made of +30%, −10% and +18% produces a different outcome from a steady 12%, particularly when money is being withdrawn. Sequence of returns is not modelled.
- Inflation is excluded unless a page says otherwise
- Figures are nominal. A corpus of ₹2 crore in thirty years is not ₹2 crore of today's money. The inflation calculator exists to translate between the two.
- Tax is excluded from investment results
- SIP, FD, RD and CAGR outputs are pre-tax unless the page states otherwise. Post-tax returns can be materially lower, and the gap between two products often turns entirely on their tax treatment.
- Charges beyond those you enter are excluded
- Expense ratios, exit loads, prepayment penalties, insurance bundled into a loan, GST on fees, and account maintenance charges are not applied unless a field asks for them.
- Statutory rates are those in force on the date shown
- Tax slabs, PPF and EPF rates, LTCG thresholds and gratuity limits change. Pages that depend on such a rate display its effective date. A saved or shared calculation carries the rate that was current when it was made, not today's.
- Rounding differs from your provider's
- Lenders and banks round at different points in a schedule and use different day-count conventions. Expect small differences against a lender's own statement — typically rupees, not thousands. A large difference usually means a charge you have not entered.
4. Accuracy, and its limits
The formulas are standard and the implementations are tested, but no representation is made that any output is accurate, complete, or fit for a particular purpose. Errors are possible; if you find one, report it and it will be corrected.
Do not commit money on the strength of a number from this site alone. Verify against the provider's own documentation, and where the sum is material, against a qualified professional who knows your circumstances.
5. Tax information
Tax content is general, applies to the assessment year named on the page, and assumes a resident individual taxpayer unless stated. It does not cover every exemption, surcharge, special rate, presumptive scheme, or treaty position, and it does not address non-resident status, business income, or capital gains on unlisted or foreign assets in any depth. Tax is fact-specific. Consult a chartered accountant or tax practitioner before filing or before acting on a tax-planning idea.
6. Third-party content and advertising
Advertisements are served by Google AdSense and are selected by Google, not by FinClamp. Their appearance on a page is not an endorsement, a recommendation, or a statement that the advertiser has been checked. FinClamp receives no commission on anything an advertiser sells and has no relationship with any advertiser. Any dealing you have with an advertiser is between you and them.
The same applies to any external link in a guide: links are provided because a source is useful, not because the destination has been vetted.
7. No liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, FinClamp accepts no liability for any loss or damage — direct, indirect, consequential, or otherwise — arising from the use of, or reliance on, this website, its calculators, its guides, or anything linked from them. You use the site on the basis that you accept this.
8. Past performance
Where a guide cites historical returns, past performance is not a guide to future performance. Investments carry risk, including the loss of the amount invested. Deposit products carry issuer and interest-rate risk. Property is illiquid and carries costs the headline yield hides.
