Raj Mohan
Software engineer, and the person who builds and maintains FinClamp — its calculators, the formulas behind them, and the guides that explain them.
FinClamp is built and maintained by Raj Mohan, an independent software engineer. It is a personal project rather than a company product: there is no sales team, no partner bank, and no commission earned on anything the site discusses.
That independence is the reason a page here can say plainly when a product is a bad deal. A site paid per lead cannot tell you that a personal loan at 16% is a poor way to fund a holiday. This one has no reason not to.
It is worth being exact about what that does and does not mean. I am not a registered investment adviser and nothing here is personal advice — your circumstances are not in the model. What I can offer instead is arithmetic you can check: every calculator states the formula it uses, defines each variable, and shows a worked example, so the output can be verified by hand rather than taken on trust. Where a guide relies on a statutory figure — a tax slab, a scheme rate, an exemption limit — it links the authority that publishes it.
If a number on this site is wrong, the page gives you enough to prove it, and reported calculation errors are looked at the same day. That is the standard the site is asking to be held to.
What the guides cover
- Loan amortisation and prepayment — the reducing-balance schedule Indian lenders use
- Deposits and small savings — FD, RD, PPF, EPF, NPS, SSY compounding rules
- Income tax, capital gains and HRA under the current slabs and sections
- Mutual fund return maths — SIP, SWP, XIRR and CAGR
- Decision models where two choices are funded from one budget
Corrections
Reported calculation errors are looked at the same day. Write to contact@finclamp.com with the page URL, the inputs you entered, the figure the page returned and the figure you expected — see the contact page for what makes a report quickest to act on.
